Passports and visas
Students from the European Union
EU citizens do not need a visa to enter Spain. With a valid identity card or passport they can reside in Spain for as long as they wish.
Those coming from European Union countries that have not signed the Schengen Treaty must carry their passport to enter Spain (United Kingdom, Ireland and the new EU members, such as Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia).

The processing and approval period for a visa can take months, depending on the country, so it is recommended to start the necessary steps as soon as possible.
