The Spanish Language Courses by the University of La Rioja are aimed at students of any nationality who wish to learn Spanish or improve their knowledge of the language. Taught by specialised university lecturers, these courses combine the systematic teaching of grammar and vocabulary with the practice of communication skills.

Language courses are offered at various levels, with content adapted to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, and are complemented by studying different aspects of Spanish culture.

Students can choose to enrol in any of our courses: Full course, tri-monthly, monthly, etc.

For each course type, a placement test will be carried out on the first day to determine students' language proficiency and assign them to the appropriate group/level.

At the end of the course, students who have successfully passed will receive a diploma indicating the level reached, the subjects taken, the hours received and the grade obtained.

This diploma can be used as a transcript for credit. The number of credits earned will depend on the home university.

Enrolment in the tri-monthly, six-monthly, annual or summer courses includes obtaining the SIELE certificate (International Spanish Language Evaluation Service) from the Cervantes Institute, which certifies the level of proficiency in Spanish.
