18 International Conference on the Ethical and Social Impacts of ICT
Logroño, La Rioja, Spain
17 - 19 June

ethicomp 2020

The ETHICOMP series of conferences fosters an international community of scholars and technologists, including computer professionals and business professionals from industry. Since 1995, conferences have been scheduled across Europe and Asia, with our main events coming approximately every 18 months. ETHICOMP considers computer ethics, conceived broadly, to include philosophical, professional, and practical aspects of the field.

Our 2020 conference will be a jointly hosted event by La Rioja University in collaboration with Universitat Rovira i Virgili, the Centre for Computing and Social Responsibility  (De Montfort University, Leicester, UK) and the Centre for Business Information Ethics (Meiji University, Tokyo) in Logroño, Spain, June 17-19, 2020.

The University of La Rioja (UR) is located on a modern campus in Logroño, capital of La Rioja, where 7500 students are registered in 26 undergraduate programs, doctorates, masters, and other postgraduate courses. The UR is the only university in this small, quiet region in Northern Spain. La Rioja is where the Monasteries of San Millán de la Cogolla, cradle of the first words written in the Spanish language, are situated, which were included in UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 1996. The University of La Rioja was founded in 1992 and, as a centre devoted to Higher Education, research, and cultural promotion, it has continued the work of these monasteries in disseminating knowledge and the Spanish language. The conference is organized in close collaboration with the Social and Business Research Laboratory of Rovira i Virgili University, an interdisciplinary centre where society transformation is analyzed, including the technological transformation from an ethical perspective.
