The main goal of this series of Meetings on Computer Algebra and Applications (EACA) is to provide a forum for researchers on Computer Algebra as well as for researchers who essentially use these techniques in their investigations. Originally, this is a Spanish forum, but it is not restricted to Spanish people. In the last EACA events a considerable number of researchers from all over the world did participate. EACA-2001 is the seventh EACA meeting, following events in Santander (1995), Sevilla (1996), Granada (1997), Sigüenza (1998), Tenerife (1999) and Barcelona (2000). As in previous events of this series, the participation of young researchers is especially encouraged.

The meeting is a Spanish forum with international
participation. Therefore working language will be Spanish, but
talks in English are also usual.
Updated information will be available at the EACA-2001 web pages. All useful documents and files, such as style files for preprints or registration and accommodation forms, are available there, when ready. Web address is:
Anyone interested in the topics of the meeting is warmly invited to attend it. Participants willing to give talks should submit an extended abstract of their works of no more than 5 pages before 16th April, 2001. Submissions should report on recent research works. Two kinds of contributions will be considered: (1) standard mathematical results on the topics of the meeting and (2) other works related to the experimental aspects of mathematics (innovative implementations of already known algorithms, experimental evaluation of the performance of algorithms or programming platforms, conjectures found using computers, and so on).
We recommend the authors to use the style file muestra.tex to write the LATEX file of the preprint. The file must be submitted by e-mail to:
File muestra.tex is available at the web page. It will also be sent by e-mail on request.
Authors will be notified the acceptance of their talks and the modifications suggested by the Scientific Committee before 28th May, 2001 and will be asked to submit the final abstract of their works. Each participant will receive a copy of the Conference Proceedings (an internal work document) that will include the final versions of all the abstracts accepted.
Accepted papers must be presented at the Meeting by one of the authors in 20 min. plus 5 min. for questions.
The main speakers will be:
Participants are requested to register by 25th June, 2001. The registration fees are 15,000 Pta (90.15 Eu). The payment method is detailed in the page "http://www.unirioja.es/dptos/dmc/eaca2001/inscripcion.htm".
Any question on registration or accommodation should be submitted by e-mail to eaca2001@unirioja.es, or by ordinary mail to

Ezcaray is a nice village close to a ski resort
(Valdezcaray). It is around 50 kilometers far from Logroño, the
main town in La Rioja. There is a bus service linking Logroño
and Ezcaray. Further details on accommodation and traveling can be found in "http://www.unirioja.es/dptos/dmc/eaca2001/alojamiento.htm".
A tutorial, which will take place the days before EACA-2001 at Logroño (in the Departamento de Matemáticas y Computación of the Universidad de La Rioja), is foreseen:
By Francis Sergeraert (Institut Fourier, Grenoble). |
Further information on registration and accommodation for this tutorial can be requested in our e-mail addres .
